![]() Our journey begins! During worship Sunday morning, our Mission Team of Bob Conner, Janice Conner, Connie Keller, Charlie Meredith, Wanda Moore, Pastor Bill Pifer-Foote, Cory Putt, Rick Rentschler and Yvonne Rentschler were commissioned to use their "hands as instruments of Christ's presence to those affected" by Superstorm Sandy, and "to listen attentively to the stories that [they] will hear" from those whose lives have been devastated "these past 19 months." We left Womelsdorf at 1:45 p.m. and arrived at the Rutherford Congregational UCC about 4:45. We met the pastor, the Rev. Greg Rupright who oriented us to the church building. We set up our cots and had supper, then a fire drill (required by local ordinance). Now we can relax, until 8:00 a.m. Monday when we get our assignment for our week's work.
