Sunday morning worship begins at 10:00 AM.  Children and adults of all ages are welcome and encouraged to participate in worship and all activities. The worship style could be described as "Traditional "  as we seek to keep alive our Reformed Heritage, yet open to the movement of the Holy Spirit. No matter where you are on your faith journey, you are welcome here.

Zion United Church of Christ has a rich history in the Womelsdorf area.  It was founded in 1792 as a German Reformed Church in union with Zion Lutheran Church.  The two congregations built their current buildings in 1917.  The two congregations continue to work together providing joint worship on  Ash Wednesday, and during Holy Week.

Services of Holy Communion (the Lord’s Supper or Eucharist) are held on church holy days and are open to all Christians without regard to age or denominational affiliation.

Zion UCC has been an active part of the United Church of Christ since its inception in 1957.  A member of the Covenant Association of the Pennsylvania Southeast Conference, Zion collaborates with other UCC churches in the association for missions projects.  Zion's pastor also participates in the Conrad Weiser Ministerial Association which embraces diversity in the various denomination's present. The group provides for the public mid-week Lenten services & Conrad Weiser Baccalaureate,  among other opportunities sharing in ministry together.

Outreach has long been part of Zion UCC's ministry.  We support the Conrad Weiser Food Bank and the Western Berks Shepherding Ministry and Opportunity House in Reading.  We have sent two mission teams to New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, have worked on three Habitat for Humanity houses in Reading, sent a team to Bergen County, New Jersey for Superstorm Sandy relief.

Zion UCC holds special services at various times during the year.  Evening worship begins at 7:30 p.m.  For more details on these services, check the Calendar of Events tab.  Services combined with Zion Lutheran Church alternate between the two congregations and includes both pastors.

Zion UCC is well-known for its annual Strawberry Festival held at the church on the first Saturday in June.  Strawberry Shortcake is featured, with other foods available.  Games, raffles and entertainment are held throughout the afternoon. Some additional activities and fundraisers to participate in include a spaghetti supper, open to the community, held the fall. A Christmas cookie sale  in early December and delicious chocolate peanut butter Easter eggs are made in the spring.
